I've never been diving in Europe. Haven't been there since I was 15 but I've heard great things about the Canary islands.

I live in Greece and I can say that there are many different dive sites to dive. Wrecks or caves or anywhere else you want to dive...
    You need something specific???

I'd love to dive in Greece, but I understand that it is very restrictive there as to where you can and cannot dive?

Not any more. Last year the Government voted the new Law for Recreational diving according to the EU directions. This Law says that anybody can dive anywhere except some dive sites that are forbidden . This gives the opportunity to the divers to dive anywhere.

That is good news indeed. How are the conditions there? I might have to consider a trip to Greece in 08. I know my wife would love that.

As much as the Law is concerned if you go to this forum www.diverscorner.co.nr English section/news/Recreational Diving Bill you will see about the Law.
For diving in Greece there are many beautiful diving sites especially in the Islands . Of course here is not Red Sea or Caribbean but there are many wrecks , caves and others.

There's as much diversity in diving in Europe as in North America. I know something about diving in the Northern Scandinavia so feel free to ask if coming this way

Wrecks=Narvik is god place to start http://www.skovheim.org/located/norway.php
also a lot of wrecks in the Baltic sea. Esp. old wooden ships

Marine life is rich anywhere along the Atlantic or the Arctic sea costline.
How about King Crabs by the Arctic sea. They can grow up to 6' although I've seen "only" 5er.
I added one spot I like (one of 50) here in the DIVE SITES. Also recommend Lofotten.
