MST 728B was a 200 foot barge. She was carrying grain north from chicago in August of 2003 when the tug towing her and one other barge encountered bad weather. When she began to sink, she was cut free and the tug brought the other barge safely into Waukegan harbor. She lies upright and intact on a level bottom. There are remanents of the large, heavy fiberglass cover that was used to protect the grain from weather and a large mound of spilled grain off of the front of the barge.
